This product is filled to the brim with beneficial ingredients. It’s a potion. And it’s immediately available in the Muggle world. Let us introduce you to the first acid serum in our career. A splen-did one. It’s based on rose flower water (known for its moisturising and soothing effect) combined with iconic skincare ingredients such as mandelic, lactobionic and hyaluronic acids. Altogether, they create a unique, light, quickly absorbing and, above all, highly effective mixture. Although edelweiss’ name sounds delicious and entirely innocent, it hides its truly potent properties.
We know that the word “acids” sounds frightening for some people and makes them think of laboratory test tubes filled with fuming and corrosive substances. However, the truth is that acids (used in the proper concentrations, of course) are one of the most beneficial substances in skincare. We used them as ingredients in our face serum, specifically mandelic and lactobionic acids. Now, let’s proceed to a bit of chemical theory.
Mandelic acid is classified as alpha-hydro acids (fruit acids) which provide lots of skincare benefits. Compared to other AHA acids, it is relatively gentle and can be used by people with sensitive skin. It has not only exfoliating but also moisturising and sebum-regulating effects.
Whereas lactobionic acid is classified as PHA acids, i.e. intended for the care of sensitive skin. It is also for dry skin and dilated capillaries. When used in the appropriate concentration (no worries, we took care of it!), it provides deep nourishment and helps with epidermis keratosis issues.
The above-mentioned substances are responsible for the serum’s leading properties, i.e. intense moisturising and gentle exfoliation. And that’s not all! When used regularly, the product evens out the skin tone, helps to reduce discolouration and the appearance of small scars
The important thing is that both mandelic acid and lactobionic acid do not have a photosensitising effect. What’s more, their combination with soothing ingredients (such as allantoin, panthenol or aloe vera juice) lets you use the serum all year round, not only in the autumn and winter season, like with most exfoliating cosmetics of this type.
The serum smells. It has a delicate, subtle, but most of all natural scent. Our product owes this aroma to its base, the rose flower water, which makes its application extremely pleasant. Nearly sensual.
And here we go with another thing: its application. It’s lightning fast. The serum is im-me-di-ate-ly absorbed by the skin! As it has a light gel consistency, you won’t remember how a greasy film feels on your face. Instead, you’ll learn what an immediate feeling of freshness and tightness is.
And last but not least – our icing on the cake – the edelweiss. Edelweiss extract, hand in hand with a hyaluronic acid (a skincare genius), also gives the serum a regenerating, tightening and anti-ageing effect.
We told you it was a real potion didn’t we?
IMPORTANT: It should not be forgotten that despite the great delicacy that we put into this product, acids are exfoliating substances. Their effect on the skin varies depending on the skin type, as well as its reaction to exfoliating cosmetics. What does this mean in practice? The serum can work both very gently (sebum-regulating, micro-exfoliating and moisturizing with the desired glow effect), but it can also result in noticeable exfoliation.
This is why we recommend introducing the product gradually, up to 1-2 times a week, in the evening, preferably with moisturizing creams (applied about half an hour after using the serum). And during the day, we must remember to protect our face with SPF cream.
