Description
Rose hydrolate is formed during steam distillation of Damask rose flowers. Flower water consists of water-soluble plant particles and a small amount of essential oil responsible for a nice, delicate odour. The hydrolate reaction resembles the natural pH of the skin, which is why it will usually be a cosmetic suitable for the care of different skin types. However, rose hydrolate is recommended especially for dried, couperose and mature skin. When applied to the skin, it will moisturize and refresh it, as well as further strengthen blood vessels. It has an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and cleansing effect.
EFFECTS:
Hydrolate is basically a side effect of the formation of essential oils obtained by the distillation. Water steam with a temperature of one hundred degrees allows you to release molecules located in different parts of plants. As a result of this process, two parts are precipitated – oily, consisting of essential oils, and aqueous – precisely in a form of the hydrolate. Hydrolate mostly consists of water, yet it also retains the active ingredients desired in care treatments. Thanks to such proportions, the hydrolate will work much more gently than the essential oil, it is also characterized by a more subtle scent. It can be applied to the face, body or hair without worrying.
It is a cosmetic that will surely appeal to lovers of universal products. Flower water in an atomizer bottle successfully replaces the tonic – it is enough to spray the face with it or apply it to the skin with a cosmetic petal (we recommend reusable ones). The use of hydrolate on freshly cleansed skin will not only restore its proper pH after using a washing agent, but also prepare the face for the next stages of a care treatment. It is also a great base ingredient for all kinds of rinses, masks, tonics or conditioners, or can work as a humectant base in the process of oiling hair.
Hydrolate will also work as a refreshing mist for both face and body. On hot days, you can keep it in the refrigerator – a feeling of relief of warmed skin with a cool mist – it’s priceless. If you apply a full make-up every day, gently spray your face with the hydrolate after powdering – you will gain a fresher, natural effect and durability.
Properties:
The Damask rose hydrolate will be especially appealing to owners of complexions prone to dryness, also sensitive, mature and couperose. It has moisturizing and nourishing properties. Thanks to flavonoids present in rose petals – anthocyanins, the hydrolate has a regenerating effect, stimulates microcirculation and helps to strengthen blood vessels. In addition, it evens out the tone of the skin, restores its healthy glow, reduces swelling and brightens discolorations. It is like a soothing compress for irritated, unpleasantly strained complexion. It will also work well as a lifeline for the skin after a bit too intense sun baths and after insect bites.
Scent: pleasant, typically floral and natural
We preserve all hydrolates with a gentle, ecological preservative made of radish. It is a natural preservative of plant origin based on antibacterial peptides, which are formed by the fermentation of Raphanus Sativus radish by human-friendly lactic acid bacteria of the Leuconostoc kimchii genus. It is skin-friendly and offers an alternative to traditional synthetic preservatives. It effectively protects against bacteria, prolongs vitality of the cosmetic and has an antiseptic effect, and in addition, it has an unusual for preservatives and a very beneficial for the skin care property – it’s moisturizing.
